Turkey’s commercial wooden box of stone materials instead of container for export

The recovery of trade from the coronavirus pandemic has been hampered by continued container shortages and limited shipping space. Container shortages have pushed freight costs to record highs and prevented manufacturers from filling rapidly recovering global commodity orders. This has prompted global exporters to seek solutions to soaring costs and respond to their orders.
A marble company in Turkey’s western province of Denizli came up with wooden cases to solve the problem of container supply disruption while looking for ways to ship its products to its main market, the United States.

Recently, about 11 tons of processed marble (usually shipped in 400 containers) were transported to the United States by bulk carriers in wooden cases similar to pallets. Murat yener, President of DN MERMER, said it marked the first time that products were exported to the United States in wooden cases

90% of the company’s marble products are sold in more than 80 countries, with three factories, two marble quarries and about 600 employees in denizley.
“We are proving that Turkish marble is the best brand in the world, and we have established exhibition halls, warehouses and sales networks in the United States, especially in Miami and other countries,” yener told Anadolu Agency (AA)
“The container crisis and rising transportation costs make it difficult for us to compete with our overseas competitors,” he said. Instead of using container ships, we have pioneered the use of bulk carriers in the industry. ”
Serdar sungur, President of the Denizli miner and marble Association, said a large number of exports had been shipped to Egypt earlier. But he stressed it was the first time processed goods were exported in wooden cases, and said they expected the application to become common.20210625085746_298620210625085754_9940
