The 23rd China Xiamen International Stone Exhibition will be held in Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center on June 5-8, 2023. Under the new pattern of double circulation, the whole upstream and downstream industrial chain, architecture and design circles, and cross-border platform institutions gather in Xiamen to jointly focus on, discuss and promote the new business form of high-quality development of the stone industry.
Xiamen Habitat Design Life Festival is jointly sponsored by Xiamen International Stone Exhibition and IHIDA Habitat Space Design Association. The stone and design are accurately linked through an all-round perspective of industry, education and research, and presented together in exhibition, forum, and industry travel. Since 2020, stone and living space have always been the main theme of Xiamen Habitat Design Life Festival. We explore the change, application and innovation of stone in living space, break the inherent boundary of stone, and endow stone with new aesthetic value and functional experience through design.
At the special cut-off point of the third year, we have put our eyes farther and focused on the diversity of human settlements. Stone and living space are the boundaries of human life, as well as the media and tools of human life. When we take off the inherent coat, we hope to have more rich and bold creation, and at the same time more close to the design of real life, to open a more diverse life experience, and feel the possibilities that human life gives us.

Deconstruct stone in design
The Habitat Space Design Exhibition is the core part of the Xiamen Habitat Design Life Festival, and also lays the foundation for the design and aesthetics of the Life Festival. As a kind of social practice, space exhibition is a comprehensive embodiment of the aesthetics of the times and the values of creators, and also tells enlightening stories to viewers. In 2023, the Habitat Space Design Exhibition will focus on the theme of “Stone · Space”.
Stone · Jian, the description and imagination of stone in different space and time, in the living space, stone is constantly shaped by time. Because of the uniqueness of individuals and the richness of individual feelings, even the same kind of other spaces can still produce different emotions and resonance.
Stone · room, taking the living space as the proposition, defines a house with stone, hoping to explore the possibility of stone and explore the diversity of living life with different expressions.
Liang Zhitian, the leader of the design industry, served as the chief curator of the 2023 Habitat Space Design Exhibition. The exhibition was jointly curated by several design elites in the industry, including Lai Xudong, Du Heng, Liu Xuan, Liu Daohua, Zhang Li, Zhu Xiaoming, Zhao Yiping, He Yongming, Shen Shaohua, and so on. The stone materials were deconstructed in the design to define the stone with life.

In 2023, the Habitat Space Development Forum, with the theme of “Application of Stone in Private House Space”, invited curators Liang Zhitian, Zhu Xiaoming, Lai Xudong and Liu Daohua to talk with representatives of the stone industry, hoping to seek more innovation of stone in private houses with their perspective and thinking.

Xiamen Habitat Design Life Festival · Industry Study Tour is a professional stone production and study tour tailored to the characteristics and needs of designers. Through the designer’s field investigation and personal experience, we have a deep understanding of the stone industry from the stone raw materials to the stone application output, and try to meet the needs of the designer’s material selection through the exploration and deconstruction of the stone, and at the same time build a communication channel between the brand and the designer to achieve a win-win situation.
