How to add glue in the production process of marble cylinders

Stone craftsmanship

01

Nowadays, there are various techniques and styles for stone, including large-scale patchwork and cylindrical balls, with rich colors and diverse shapes. And the problem that comes with it is glue replenishment. Today, the editor will introduce to you what is stone gluing and the gluing process for marble cylinder production.
In the production process of stone cylinders, gluing is a highly specialized technique that is crucial to the quality of the product.

What is stone adhesive repair
Enhance the strength and luminosity of stone to prevent damage and breakage. After being treated with adhesive, the physical properties of the stone are changed due to the penetration of the adhesive solution into the interior, which heals the gaps between crystal particles inside the stone, bonds cracks, and significantly improves the strength of the stone. At the same time, the surface of the stone after being treated with adhesive will be more smooth, bright, and dazzling after polishing; Prevent some loose stones from breaking edges during the cutting process.
The implementation of stone bonding technology has solved many natural shortcomings of stone, so stone processing enterprises attach great importance to it. Here, we have a topic for communication. Due to various defects in natural stone, many stones must undergo adhesive treatment before polishing.
The necessity of stone adhesive repair
Stone is influenced by natural factors, and after processing, its surface can show defects such as cracks, holes, sand holes, damage, fractures, collapse edges, and loose materials. These defects have led to a decrease in the rate of superior quality of stone, resulting in a decrease in surface aesthetic value and grade. Therefore, stone bonding plays a crucial role in stone processing technology.
The role of stone adhesive repair
Stone adhesive can compensate for and repair the defects naturally formed in natural stone. Common patterns such as chicken feet, cracks, sand holes, pits, loose and damaged materials in granite and marble. After being glued, defective stone can be made more perfect, vibrant, and crystal clear, thereby significantly improving the grade of the stone and increasing its value.
Stone adhesive repair can prevent stone damage and contamination. After being glued, the stone surface condition of the stone is greatly improved due to the filling of glue, which allows the glue to penetrate into small cracks and sand holes. Dust and liquid pollutants are less likely to invade the surface of the stone, reducing the chances of various pollutants hiding and preventing the stone from being contaminated and diseased.
Slow down the fading of stone. On the one hand, the addition of UV factor formula in stone fortifiers can prevent UV damage to the color of stone; On the other hand, the repair of the stone slab surface prevents the opportunity for dust and liquid to invade, which can maintain the natural color of the stone for a longer time.
Local treatment of stone can be carried out by adding adhesive to restore its natural color once defects are found after polishing and polishing.
By enhancing the bonding strength of stone, the compressive strength and impact resistance will be greatly enhanced. Due to the fact that adhesive is a polymer material with extremely strong adhesion and cohesion, the repaired stone also possesses this characteristic, and the strength of the stone has been greatly improved and enhanced.

Steps for adding adhesive to marble cylinders:

The first step
Remove mortar or other debris from the cracks in the original marble, with a depth of 3-5mm. If it is rough stone, the width of the gap should be increased to about 10mm. If it is marble, clean the original joint thoroughly.
Step 2
Crush the marble with a small hammer that matches the color and pattern of the crack opening. If it is marbles, its particle size should be similar to that of marbles. If it is monochromatic stone, it can be smashed into powder.
Step 3
Take an appropriate amount of transparent marble glue and crushed marble particles or powder, mix well, add an appropriate amount of drying agent, and then stir well. Apply the mixed mixture evenly to the crack opening. After application, the crack opening should be slightly higher than the marble surface by 0.5mm, and it should be dried later.
Step 4
Install 100 # resin sand film on the corner polishing machine, slightly smooth the dry crack opening, then install 220 # resin film for fine grinding, and then polish it with 360 # water sandpaper.
Clean the water and stains on the wall or floor, then use a corner polishing machine to install a cloth wheel and polish with wax. After the gloss appears, continue polishing until it is close to the original marble luster.
Then use a small amount of polishing wax dipped in steel wire wool, and manually polish until the luster is completely the same as the original marble. At this point, the cracks are no longer visible.
Step 5
If there are patterns in monochromatic stones, and the patterns are exactly at the crack, in addition to mixing the powder with glue, the color powder should also be mixed to match the pattern and embedded in the crack.
